Love Allie
A few weeks ago, I came across this website, Love Allie and was not too sure what to think. It is cute and original but I never got a glimpse of the clothes she sells or makes (not clear about that either) until this weekend. As I was walking back from Cross Street Market, I decided to take the path most traveled, along Light St. To my surprise, on the corner of West and Light is a huge sign that says Love Allie. Finally, I get a chance to see what this is all about! I popped into the small corner store that looks like it was once someone’s living room with its dark wood floors, large radiator and decorated with old black and white photos on the walls. The clothes were new, mostly by Dolce Vita, and had a vintage feel. There was a limited variety of tops, dresses and vibrantly-colored denim and corduroy pants (my favorite). There is definitely potential to this store. It has a very different vibe than the other stores in the neighborhood, very rustic and grassroots. But right now it just doesn’t feel complete. It feels a little street vendorish and something is missing. Maybe all the store needs is a bit of time or some accessories! Not sure, but will definitely be keep an eye out.
