Buff Guy Timothy Greene sees staying in shape as a lifelong balancing act. His philosophy: do what you love, be disciplined about it, but chow down on greasy fries now and then. A massage therapist by day, a dedicated weight lifter after hours, Timothy makes health and well-being ongoing goals.

Are you naturally buff, or do you need to work at it?
I need to work out. As a child I was overweight.

What is your typical exercise regimen?
I do a 15 to 25 minute cardio warm-up. I’ll bicycle to the spa or skip rope. On days when I work out with weights I target one body part to train. I train for an hour and a half, stretch, and head for the steam room.

What is your motivation for working out, to look good or feel great?
Both—I love the compliments and it’s a natural high.

Do you believe in exercising everyday?
I work out three to four days a week—two days on, two days off. I do two days of weight training and two of cardio.

How important is cardio for staying fit?
Very important—cardio is top for circulation and great for your metabolism.

What is your diet like?
I love to eat, but I have to do everything in moderation. Two years ago I was diagnosed with high cholesterol. I cut out red meat and now I eat a lot of chicken and veggies. But I still love brick oven pizza and fries! You’re a massage therapist and a weight lifter…

What is more important to do regularly to keep from getting stressed out?
You want it all. It’s like having your cake and eating it too. That balanced feeling.
