In honor of blockbuster movies, Snickers-laden Flurries, irresponsible sunbathing and other guilty pleasures of the school’s-out season, we present our summer reading list.

Natural Selection by Dave Freedman
($21.95; Hyperion), out on 6/27. When man disturbs the evolutionary cycle of the ocean floor, results are deadly—so Crichton-esque.
