Maybe It Means How to Save Book Bucks…

Situated across the street from Towson Town Center, this new used bookstore offers an exciting alternative to the full-priced corporate bookseller that starts with a B. And with holidays rapidly on the way, here’s the place to stack up good gifts for most everyone on your list…for a song.

The warehouse-size store, owned by local brothers Jack and Seth Revelle, who got their start in online book sales, also stocks most every New York Times bestseller from seasons recent. These discounted bestsellers are not previously owned. Pick up Nora Ephron’s hilarious I Feel Bad About My Neck for 15% off the cover price. You might buy one for Mom, one for your sister, too.

More than 100,000 titles live under this large roof, divided into traditional sections, including fantasy/sci-fi, diet and nutrition, cooking, children’s, sociology, art (a small section but solid), film, history, business, science, relationships, computers, and more.

The fiction and literature section is quite strong. We nabbed Judy Budnitz critically acclaimed story collection from 2000, Flying Leap, in paperback for only $2.98. Zoe Heller’s fun What Was She Thinking? set us back only $6.98 in hardcover. The audiobooks section is also worth a close look—each title is $5.99 max. Talk about a thoughtful stocking stuffer.

Other smart finds: Atkins for Life priced at $7.98; Suzanne Somers’ Eat, Cheat and Melt the Fat Away only $2.99; How to Know God by Deepak Chopra promises deep answers for $5.98; and for the littlest reader on your list, Coraline by Neil Gaiman is $6.98.

All used books are under $10. The children’s section features an especially extensive paperback tween section and picture books for younger kids. Upbeat local art decorates the walls—it is for sale and is rotated regularly. Staff is friendly and helpful.

On the way out, you’ll find a bargain table that’s truly dirt cheap—just in case you forgot to buy something for that uncle once removed who always sends you a Hickory Farms jam-and-jelly sampler.
